The "Sight" Video: A Scary, Creepy Look Into The (Maybe) Near Future Of Augmented Reality

This "Sight" video is made by Eran May-raz and Daniel Lazo whom are graduates of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. This video is about a man named Patrick S. He works for a company called Sight Systems and he goes through his daily routine life in his apartment. He plays games, cooks dinner, watches TV and chooses his wardrobe all with the use of his optical in-plants displaying the augmented reality.

It seems that everybody on the planet is using them because he goes out on a dinner-date with a women named Daphne and she has them also.

They talk with each other while he uses a game-like app called "Wingman" in order the get the most optimal dating response from her.

The dinner-date goes well, she goes back to his apartment, sit down and have a drink, but as shes viewing his augmented reality walls. She sees his "achievement" wall (kind of like an XBOX 360 achievement system) and notices the Wingman achievement.

She gets disgusted by the fact that Patrick used an app on their date and decided to head home instead of being with a "game junkie".

But.. Here is the scariest part. As she's walking away he gives her the command to wait, she stops dead in her tracks, he accesses her profile in which he's giving her new commands and then he says "lets try this again"

Sends a chill up my spine.

Scary to think that this might be soon a reality for everybody but I know that I wouldn't want that in my head. I want my God given free will, not somebodies robot.  I'll stick with interacting with the real world and turn on my XBOX 360 when I want to and not having an augmented reality on all the time. Eran and Daniel made this high production value video most likely with a Adobe product, not sure, but I could probably bet that they did and I would like to know with what.

So what is Photoshop Lightroom 3 ?

Photoshop Lightroom 3 is made by Adobe Systems and is used for managing large amounts of digital photos for Photoshop users. It's available for Windows and Mac users with both the regular version and Student and Teacher version. It's stand alone software so you don't need to go out and get Photoshop CS5, it will work on just about any digital photo you have on your hard drive (Believe me, I just downloaded the trial version and it imported, from all the pics that I took to the individual graphics pictures that are on the templates of my websites! Amazing!).

What does Photoshop Lightroom 3 do?

Aside from the mentioned management of large amounts of photos you can adjust the sharpness, contrast, color, reduce noise, edit areas you target and much, much more. From my research, if you have Photoshop CS5, you supposedly can integrate Photoshop Lightroom 3 with that to make some really nice panoramic photos and more! After you edit your photos you can publish them on your website or easily on sites like Facebook, Flickr and SmugMug. It works with 64 bit OS for better picture quality.

Adobe is......?


What is Adobe you ask, well, one of the definitions used  for the word is that of the clay, sand and water mixture that people still use after hundreds of years in hot climate countries for building houses( for a more detailed definition of what I previously mentioned click on what is adobe ). 

The second definition, and the most commonly used in this day and age, is that of the company that makes some of the best software in the business, Adobe Systems. Yes, that's right, the company that made Photoshop and PDF (with Adobe Acrobat ) is the Adobe that we have come to love and appreciate through the recent years. So when I think of adobe, I don't think of mud, hay and manure, but I think about how great a website looks with Dreamweaver and all of it's functionality of a complete HTML editor(and all the other languages it supports), FTP and much, much more. Adobe houses aren't made in a flash, but Flash is made in the house of Adobe (especially after buying out Macromedia in 2005 and improving on the Adobe Flash product and many more products they acquired). Adobe After Effects is the way to put in special effects after you shoot your live action scenes in that sci-fi movie you want to put on You Tube.

What should you do about Adobe?

I could go on and on about how great Adobe products are but I will save the rant and rave for more posts.
